Mom prepares me,
but nothing can inoculate fear colored blue
masked in lights, shining brightly.
The terror seeps through.
Awareness disguised as tolerance is not the same as love.
An uneasy embrace may appear affectionate,
but can feel worse than a slap.
Words said with anger are not kind,
no matter what each word means by itself.
Look kindly
choose many feelings,
but please do not choose blue.
Yeah, tell me about it. But they are not ruining my colour. All the shades of blue belong to me! But I just won’t wear any on the 2nd. I’m wearing something with red on it because too many of my clothes are black. I’m practically a goth. I just need a frock coat.

Love! We will be wearing red on Thursday.

Very true, and reminds me of this:

Thanks for such a great post.

RED! …even though it gives me migraines 😉
Blue was my favorite color up until now! Red is cool but I say orange is even stronger!! 🙂
We can add some yellow and make that blue into green…we can do all these kinds of things, whereas others are quite concrete and feel the way others “make them feel”. We can choose our own way of feeling. I used to call it being held at arm’s length, the way people tried to make nice, but just couldn’t.

Dear Emma,
Once again, I am in awe and filled with appreciation for how you bring to view ideas and feelings of such substance and depth, using so few words. I’m sitting here, reading and re-reading your post, letting the kindness and significance sink in. Your writing is profound. Thank you for being such a good teacher.

“Awareness disguised as tolerance is not the same as love.” You make me think Emma. About how we put experienced truths into words. About how we have to be and stand to put these truths into words. About who we can become and what do when we succeed in putting these truths into words. You move so well through all of this. In ten words you array and move truths of enormous scale and import. You are awesome.
I love that red happens to be your favorite color for dresses! I’ll be wearing red right along with you this Thursday ❤ ❤ ❤
Omigosh this is so beyond beautiful and amazing and she is just becoming such a beautiful woman, look at that picture and that pose!! ❤ ❤
